In response to the escalating threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), we are delighted to announce the Second International Conference on Combating Antimicrobial Resistance,CAMR-2024, hosted by Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital under the auspices of the Academy of Clinical Microbiologist (ACM). Themed “Clinical Challenges and Solutions in Antimicrobial Resistance,” this conference serves as a crucial platform for global collaboration.

CAMR-2024’s significance lies in its role as a catalyst for global awareness, fostering collaboration among experts, sharing cutting-edge research, and developing strategies to manage AMR effectively. Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation

VMRF is a pioneering and vibrant Research Foundation (Deemed to be a university) recognized by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, and endorsed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital

Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital, is a constituent college of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) established in the year 2000, offers an MBBS program, 19 postgraduate courses, and PhD programs. Providing comprehensive healthcare services, the hospital includes specialized departments and advanced diagnostics. Actively engaging in community-oriented services, it operates urban and rural health centers. The campus boasts modern facilities, including a library, Wi-Fi-enabled areas, auditorium, clinical skills labs, and a simulation center. Research is integral, supported by the Central Biomedical Research Laboratory, research committees, and collaborations with national and international institutions. Accredited by NAAC, NABH, and NABL, the institution emphasizes environmental sustainability, covering 33% of the campus with greenery, aligning with UNESCO’s development goals.


The Department of Microbiology

The Department of Microbiology is committed to excellence in teaching/training, diagnostic laboratory services, well-equipped research activities, and offers training to students in MBBS, MD, PhD, and paramedical courses using conventional and innovative methods. It has a Center of Excellence in the Antimicrobial Resistance Lab funded by the DBT Indo-UK extramural project. The Department is also funded by ICMR & DST-SERB for advanced research. The department has a state of art NABL accredited Molecular Diagnostic laboratory for COVID-19 testing. Furthermore, the Department is actively involved in regular training programs related to hospital infection control protocols, biomedical waste management, and the monitoring of hospital-associated infections through daily surveillance with quality indicators.
